ENHANCING SELF-AWARENESS, ACCEPTANCE, AND ADAPTABILITY

"Even if it is very foggy, cloudy or stormy, the blue sky is always there, for us, above the clouds."

About
Debi Vir
The sky is always blue, with or without clouds. There will be gloomy days of rain and beautiful days of sunshine, yet the blue sky remains through it all. It is clear, calm, open, and constant. Just like our minds. Our thoughts and feelings, postive and negative, drift in and out. They are temporary, much like passing clouds. Yet at times, we get stuck...tangled in our thoughts and emotions. Unhelpful as this may be, we struggle to let go and our psychological wellness suffers. I founded Blue Sky Counseling to help people identify and manage the thoughts and emotions that are clouding their mind and blocking them from being their healthiest, most content self. My hope is to help people experience less mind noise, more inner peace, and an expanded awareness so that they are lifted above the narrow world they are stuck in. This is the "blue sky mind".
I believe that every individual deserves personalized, compassionate care to improve their mental health and wellbeing. I am passionate about helping others and have over 20 years of experience as a licensed therapist. My orientation is primarily cognitve-behavioral and I incorporate additional evidence-based interventions to meet each person's unique needs, strengths, and goals. I use a collaborative approach and strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space so that clients can feel supported, respected, and understood.

A family works as a system and as a result, it can often be helpful to meet with more than one family member during sessions. Family therapy can provide support, education and guidance to you and your loved ones to help you function better and increase your well-being. It can help to improve family communication and parenting skills, support positive reinforcement, and reduce problematic behavior.

Relationships are our most powerful vessels for growth and transformation and as a result, they are challenging. The quality of our relationships is one of the most important determinants for our quality of life yet we are often unprepared for the realities of intimate partnership. A strong, healthy, intimate relationship takes work and at times can benefit from outside help. Couples therapy can help to get your relationship back on track and provide you with the tools to communicate with clarity and openness.
All services are provided virtually via a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
